Our vision is a partnership of active learning where students, staff, parents and our community work together to build a safe, healthy, caring environment where students thrive and develop a life-long love of learning.

Mission Statement

Every child at Waterloo Elementary School is unique, special and full of potential. We are committed to our students learning at high levels in a richly literate, stimulating environment. Our school is a safe and welcoming place, which embraces parental and community involvement.

Our amenities

• A large gymnasium
• An Art Room & Dance Studio
• An expansive playground. 
• A newly renovated Literacy Center was built to encourage the love for reading and learning in all of our students, and has become the heart of our school. This center includes 3 highly enjoyed spaces:
• Modern Junior and Senior Library 
• Joyful literacy classroom (a space dedicated to learning through play).
• Literacy Bistro (a restaurant-style environment, equipped with banquets, tables, and chairs donated from our local subway.
• A Nurturing Support Centre (the Compass) was established to help all students develop the tools and strategies needed to learn self-regulation techniques, and to accompany all students through difficult moments.

These spaces are coordinated and run by excellently trained and dedicated staff, ensuring our students are supported at all moments throughout their day.

We offer a variety of activities such as varsity and after-school sports, choir, and a variety of clubs during all unstructured recess times.
